Kristen Anne Bell is an American singer and actress born in the year 1980. Bell was raised in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier) and is an RN as well as Tom Bell, a television news director. She is of Polish (mother's) as well as German (father's), English, Irish and Scottish ancestry. Kristen's talent for entertainment was recognized at an early age. In 1992 she won her first role at her audition in Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell's mom signed her up at an agency prior to when turning 13 years old. She later appeared on television commercials as well as newspaper ads. Bell also began taking private acting classes at the age of 13. Bell had a small uncredited part in the film Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell attended Shrine Catholic High School, which was where she participated in both the music and drama club. The Wizard of Oz production at her highschool won Bell the leading Dorothy role. After graduation Bell moved into New York City to attend prestigious Tisch School of the Arts in which she studied musical theater. Bell quit the school in 2001, when she took the role of Becky to play Tom Sawyer. In the same year, she had her first credit debut as Pootie Tang. Pootie Tang (2001), however her character was deleted and her character was not shown in the credit sequence. Bell made an appearance alongside Angela Bettis, Liam Neeson, and the Broadway performance of The Crucible in 2002.
